Downtown Denver Wedding at My Boy Tony

Irene and Joe didn’t get married just, or twice, they got married both legally and symbolically three times! Their civil ceremony in Denver at the courthouse, their family wedding nearby their home in upstate New York, and finally the wedding they planned for their massive group of friends in Denver. They chose the newer bar My Boy Tony on Tennyson Street in Denver as their venue.

Prior to the couple ever contacting me I actually went in My Boy Tony on a cold winter evening with friends by chance. It’s a wonderful spot to grab a cocktail or glass of wine before or after dinner. When Irene and Joe told me of their wedding plans at the dark and somewhat smaller, but extremely well decorated and modernbar I was intrigued and up for the challenge of photographing a wedding of 70 guests in a tight and non-traditional venue space.

They started the day in reverse, first a cocktail hour to greet their guests as the entered the bar, a ceremony as the sun went down, and portraits out in the neighborhood as blue hour began. They ate tacos from a favorite food truck and celebrated the evening with cake, dancing, and toasts from their best friends. This modern and urban Denver wedding was certainly an amazing way to kick off my 2026 wedding season!
