When I woke up the morning of Will & Vicky’s wedding you could cut the humidity with a knife. I’ve experienced many wedding where you were forced to move indoors due to rain, but never due to heat. It was entirely necessary though, and everyone was grateful to be in the air conditioning.

The day started with the typical getting ready, but this wedding was a little more personal for me. Will was a friend and college classmate of mine. Him booking me as his wedding photographer meant the absolute world. I was so happy to be there to not only capture his day to the very best of my ability, but support a friend. Instead of a first look I found a dreamy spot in the garden of the venue for a very emotional first touch. If you want to have an intimate moment prior to the ceremony without seeing each other, a first touch is a perfect solution! It’s not there for the photo op, and a way to meaningfully connect on your wedding day!

After the ceremony which was given by the couple’s pastor the sun started setting and a bridesmaid picked up the couple’s cat for photos! This was obviously a career highlight for me. I love cats more than any creature on the planet. Golden hour was stunning and despite the extreme heat and humidity we did all of their portraits outside. Will and Vicky shared an amazing day of intimate moments with one another, while spending time with all of those they loved the most! Thank you for having me for your special day Will & Vicky!
